THE ART OF COMMUNICATION THROUGH THE USE OF COLOUR IN ABSTRACT WORK.
The large pieces on display are pulled from the collections of the Niagara Falls Art Gallery. It is an assemblage of various artists, from various periods, all of whom use colour as a main instrument in their work in order to express their ideas.
The scale of these works allow you to more intimately appreciate how colour works as a binding force that envelops the other elements present as well as engulfs the viewer. This overt sharing of the same space initiates not only gestural terms of interaction but often emotive inclinations akin to speech and music.
The placement of these works in the Community Gallery space intentionally evokes the sensation of a gathering as you pass down the hall. Each step brings you in contact with the exhibit as if on a busy street, or at an event, where pleasantries can not only be passed but space may be taken to interact with any work of intrigue you meet along the way.
