James Kerr

Artist Bio:
Jim Kerr's early career as a commercial artist developed from his passion for the arts that was encouraged from a young age. A graduate from OCAD, Jim is a skilled illustrator favouring pencil, as well as pen & ink but he is most passionate about watercolour and acrylic painting.

Originally from Toronto, Jim moved to the Niagara Region over 30 years ago and has been an active artist and educator for over 20 years. Jim's love of sharing his expertise has led him to accepting instructor positions at the Niagara Falls Art Gallery, the Pumphouse, Rodman Hall, Rose City Seniors Centre, and Pelham Art Club. He is also an active, founding member of “Art by the Lighthouse” in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Pelham Annual Art Show and Sale, and is a Past President & lifetime member of the Parkway Artists Guild.

Jim's work is most notable for his depiction of the region's beautiful landscapes and use of vibrant colours. Collected both privately and corporately, Jim's work has been honoured through numerous accolades, including publication as an official illustration to commemorate the bicentennial anniversary of the war of 1812, as well as an extensive exhibition catalogue throughout Ontario which includes the Niagara Falls Art Gallery, the Jordan Art Gallery, the Pumphouse Arts Centre (N.O.T.L), The Artists' Loft (N.O.T.L), The Log Cabin (Fonthill), and the Posh Gallery (Port Carling).
