Artist Bio:
Having had a deep interest in different forms of art since his early school days, Irfan remembers drawing important historical figures or even sculpting some familiar forms from pictures in his history books. Right from these early days, the human form and facial expressions were the focus of Irfan's interest in drawing and painting, but the range of his artistic repertoire has evolved over the years to include abstract works as well as collage.
Irfan utilizes various media, including watercolor, pastel, ink, and oil to experiment with new ways of expressing the subject matter, which ranges from human figures and portraiture to landscapes and abstract studies. He varies his technique according to the impressions and feelings he receives from his subject matter. It is the expected final impact of the artwork that determines which techniques Irfan chooses to utilize.
