Heather Brown
Artist Bio:
Heather Brown is a late bloomer to the art scene, having started her painting journey in
her sixties. Her favourite mediums to work in are watercolours, graphite and
charcoal sketches.
Heather's watercolour paintings are done in a distinctive loose style with many bright
colours while her sketches have a signature touch of coloured pastel to make them
“pop.” She enjoys painting and sketching animals (both domestic and wild), portraits, rustic
barns, old trucks, lighthouses and anything that simply catches her eye. She usually
starts her paintings based on photographs.
A lifelong Niagara resident, Heather has shown and sold her work through the Visual
Artists of Welland. Her work is currently on display at the Welland Museum and O's on
the Water in Port Colborne. Heather's philosophy on being an artist is simply put:
“Making art is a lifelong learning experience and I consider myself to be a forever student.”
