George Doros
Artist Statement:
As a Canadian there is a certain amount of pride and energy in the accomplishments of
people who have established themselves in the public eye. As public figures they take
on a larger than life image because of their fame and recognition and in some way
become part of our consciousness. They lead colourful, exciting, at times chaotic and
unpredictable lives that we can all connect with and empathize with.
Artist Bio:
George graduated from the Ontario College of Arts and Design,
the University of Guelph, and the Faculty of Education at Brock University.
He also studied portrait painting with American portrait artist Daniel Greene
for eight years, a retired Visual Arts teacher and consultant with the Niagara
Catholic School Board , George has also been the Manager of
Niagara Learning Through the Arts, Chair of the Welland Arts and Culture Committee,
and a Visual Arts instructor at the Brock Faculty of Arts.
